DIY Weekend Mani

Who's listened to the new Taylor song?! I personally am in love and it really reminds me of Lindsay Lohan's Rumors which I was obsessed with. She's seriously throwing so much shade at Kanye & she's subtweeting Katy Perry calling her a mean girl!!!! Anyways, There's nothing better than freshly painted nails & when you cant afford to go get a mani- you can do these super cute & minimalist nails at home! I'm a sucker for dark nail polish- If I'm not wearing Essie's Bikini So Teeny (which is my all time fav color) I'm more than likely wearing a gray or a black & you will never catch me with naked nails, I hate them!!!! I'm also super into minimalist nail designs right now- they're super trendy & easy to create!

  • 2 of your fav Nail Polishes that look good together! I picked Revlon's Colorstay Gel Envy Ace of Spades & Essie's Penny Talk
  • A toothpick
  • Tiny piece of foil
  • A great top coat (my fav is Revlon's Colorstay Gel Envy #010)

  1. First thing's first- make sure your nails are naked & are filed down to whatever shape you like best!
  2. Pick which color you want as your base- I picked the dark gray to go on as the base (Revlon's Colorstay Gel Envy #500 in Ace of Spades) & Pick which color you want to use for your dots. (I used Essie's Penny Talk)
  3. Paint a couple of coats of your base color on your nails & wait for them to completely dry.
  4. Once your base coat is completely dry, dab a little bit of your dot color (Essie's Penny Talk) on your small piece of foil and dip the flat end of a toothpick into the polish & dot it on your nail where you want the bigger dot. Repeat this step on all of your nails.
  5. After you've completed all of the bigger dots, flip the toothpick & dip the pointy end into your polish & dot it on your nails above the larger dots.
  6. Wait for all of the polish to dry- probably like 5ish minutes & then paint the top coat over every nail & let dry.
  7. Throw on some pretty midi rings & admire your new trendy DIY nails!

What are your fav nail trends for this fall?!

P.S. Revlon's Colorstay Gel Envy's nail polish is my personal fav brand for nail polishes bc they have a great top coat & awesome colors & it lasts for a long time without chipping (SO important)!

Where ya @ Fall?!

Okay so who's been watching Bachelor in Paradise?! I didn't really get into Rachaels season mainly because I was busy with moving and working so I'm not too familiar with all of the guys from her season that are on Paradise. I am an avid Paradise watcher & it is seriously addicting but I am seriously done with hearing about Corinne & Demario, anyone else? Also, I am so annoyed with Dean- I loved him and Kristina but she def deserves someone better. I cannot get enough of Alexis, ever since Nick's season she has cracked me up- she's probably my favorite on the show along with Raven. Also, Danielle & Wells?!? Could she be any more boring?! But who am I to judge? I'm currently sitting here watching One Tree Hill & eating Oreo ice cream (completely ruining my Orange Theory workout from earlier). What do you all think of this season?!

I am so ready for this super hot weather to make it's way out. I don't know how much more of this 98 degree weather I can handle- but from what I can tell, it's going to be a while before it makes it's exit. So, for now, I am forced to pretend it's a little cooler and wear transitional pieces! This oriental silk Kimono from Forever 21 is seriously my new fav layering piece & it's under $20!!! it looks so cute with shorts (so it's perfect for really hot weather). I paired it with a basic T but it also looks so cute with a graphic underneath! I also just got these super cute TopShop studded booties from Nordstrom Rack for NINE DOLLARS! They are going to be a staple piece for me this fall for sure. What pieces are you all looking forward to wearing this fall?!

Hi Everyone!

I hope you're all having a great weekend! My fav trend that's going on right now are the mule/slides. They are so easy to slip on and they add a chic (and comfortable) touch to any outfit and you can find some really cute inexpensive ones! The slides I'm wearing are from Nordstrom Rack but they're sold out in the color I have so I've linked 4 of my other favs all for under $50! Enjoy!

P.S. You can click here for the link to the slides I'm wearing in other colors!

My Top 5 Skincare Picks!

Beauty, makeup, Skincare, Uncategorized

Hi everyone!

Skincare is so important to me because I have acne prone and combination oily skin. I didn’t really start getting bad breakouts until after I graduated from college (?!?!?!?). There is nothing worse than waking up in the morning with the feeling of a new breakout coming on, it’s so annoying. Although, I still have problems with my skin, I wanted to review my top 5 skincare products that keep these breakouts at bay. Each of these items serves a different purpose and they’re fairly inexpensive! I’ve linked where to buy them and I hope you enjoy!

The best way to start any skincare routine is by washing your face thoroughly and making sure you get all of the traces of makeup off of your face! We love to exfoliate our bodies so why not exfoliate our faces?! I’ve never tried a clarisonic because I was always hesitant of the bacteria it can collect and potentially make breakouts worse. I did some research and came across the Foreo Luna Mini and decided to order it based on how easy it is to clean! I am so happy I ordered it, it is seriously the best and it has two sides with different sized silicone bristles and it also has two different vibration speeds- high and low- this makes this product perfect for sensitive skin! Its so easy to use, all you have to do is put your favorite non-abrasive cleanser on your face and then turn the foreo on, wet it, and start moving it in small circles on your face! It’s also really nice because it stays charged for up to 5 months at a time and it’s small so it’s easily portable!

This is seriously the best moisturizer! There’s a misconception that if you have oily skin you don’t have to moisturize it because it just makes it oily & leads to more breakouts. THIS IS A MYTH!!! Regardless of the type of skin you have, you must moisturize it! If you don’t moisturize your oily skin, your face thinks it needs to produce more oil leading to more breakouts! Also, this moisturizer by IT cosmetics feels so light on your skin & it has a great smell & a little goes a long way! I am super into the anti-aging thing too because I’ve heard after you turn 20, gravity starts taking it’s toll so it’s important to moisturize, moisturize, moisturize!!!

This is a year round lifesaver!!! I seriously cannot live without this stuff! It’s so refreshing in the summer when it’s hot outside & you need a little spritz to freshen up! It’s also great for long flights because the air tends to be really dry on the airplane & this adds the moisture back into your skin! Also, the size is TSA approved!!! This is great during the winter too because no one wants dry skin! I also like to keep it in my workout bag to give myself a spritz after a hard Orange Theory Fitness class! Seriously, I bring it everywhere!

If you have acne like I do, you also have acne scars like I do & they suck! I have fair skin so the red acne scars really stand out when I’m not wearing foundation or cover up & let’s be honest, who wants to wear face makeup every day? Not this girl! I like this mask because it’s easy to apply, it has a nice scent, and it’s quick! You only have to leave it on for 10 minutes and do it every other day for it to make a difference. I like it too because it tends to make my face feel a lot more moisturized than before I used it. I have definitely noticed a difference in the severity of my acne scars since using this product, it’s definitely a must buy!

Okay, if you haven’t caught on yet, I LOVE Mario Badescu products! They’re fairly inexpensive and they always work for me & this stuff is no different! I always apply this to problem areas before going to bed and I always wake up with the areas less inflamed & smaller! I like this serum mainly because it doesn’t dry out my skin or irritate the areas of skin around it! If you have problems with random breakouts, this stuff is great!

I hope this helps any of you with problem skin! What are your favorite skin care regimens?

Prague? Czech ✔️

Hi everyone!

So I'm just going to start this post by saying if you EVER get the chance to go to Prague, DO IT!!! Seriously. Prague was such a great way to end our trip. After being in the fast-paced cities of Milan and Rome, we were ready for the laid back lifestyle of Prague. If you've ever seen Shrek (& if you haven't, what are you doing with your life?) Prague is like a real life Duloc. It honestly just makes you feel like you're in a fairy tale book. Everyone is so friendly & there's no bad view anywhere.

On our first day in Prague we made our way to the Prazky Hrad aka the castle. We took the tram which was very easy to figure out & is only around $4 for unlimited 24 hour use. I wouldn't recommend walking to the castle because it is at the top of a very steep hill. The castle and the grounds were beautiful & the views from the top were fit for a king. Anytime I travel to a new city I love going to a high point so I can see the city from above.

After our royal trip to the castle, we made our way to the John Lennon wall. This is a must see in Prague- it's a wall filled with paintings of Beatles lyrics, peace signs, and anti war quotes. Anyone can paint anything on it so it changes daily. After this, we ate and grabbed a beer at the John Lennon pub which is right across the street. On our walk back to our hotel we passed the wax museum and for $7 we couldn't pass it up. I have never seen anything like it, the wax Jim Carey was so convincing & idk how they do it.

After resting at our hotel for a bit, we grabbed some schnitzel at a cute restaurant where the beer was cheaper than water & then we walked over to the Charles Bridge to catch the sunset. It was truly breathtaking. There was live music being played on the bridge & the views of the castle and the hillsides from across the river were amazing!

~*This is what dreams are made of*~

On our second full day in Rome we decided to sleep in a little bit and we got sort of a late start to the day. After we all got ready, our first stop out was lunch! One of my favorite things in the world is truffle pasta & the place we went happened to have it so I couldn’t resist! It was hard to break the routine of caprese salad or pizza but it was definitely worth it. After lunch we stopped back at our hotel to grab a couple of things and then we were off to the Spanish Steps! We basically walked everywhere and we definitely got all of our fit bit steps in (we averaged around 20,000 steps and 6 miles a day!!!) Aka bring comfortable & already broken in shoes- I learned the hard way by bringing a new pair of Superga sneakers that I hadn’t broken in yet & they killed my feet on the first day. Rome’s metro system is a lot smaller than other European cities because there is so much yet to be uncovered under the ground from thousands of years ago so unless we wanted to spend a lot of money on a taxi, walking was our primary form of transportation.

The Spanish steps were 0.4 miles from our hotel so it was a manageable walk & definitely worth it! After we admired the steps, we window-shopped our way down Via Dei Condotti. Of course we took a late afternoon gelato break and made our way back to our hotel. We ate a late dinner at a small restaurant off of a side street and then we made sure to walk by the Trevi Fountain one more time before calling it a night (there’s something magical about the Trevi Fountain at night with the lights illuminating it.)

Thanks for following along with my Italian adventures!

Romeing around the Colosseum

Processed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 presetProcessed with VSCO with a6 preset

Our first full day in Rome was a very eventful & exciting one! Of course the first thing we wanted to see was the one and only Colosseum. We didn’t opt to buy tickets in advance so we decided to go first thing in the morning to beat some of the crowds. The Colosseum was about a 30-minute walk from our hotel and since we left around 8:30am it wasn’t too hot yet. P.S. Rome is very hot!!!! When we arrived to the Colosseum it was already very crowded with tourists and tour guides. The second we walked down next to it, we were swarmed with tour guides trying to sell us their services at a discounted price to skip the line. After realizing how long the line already was, we decided to buy tickets with a tour guide group. Looking back, it was a great decision. We were able to enter the Colosseum within 10 minutes and we learned more about it by our tour guide than we would have if we just went in on our own. The history of the Colosseum is very abundant and there was so much that I did not know. It is so crazy how they were able to build such an amazing and giant amphitheater so long ago. It truly was breathtaking!

After our morning at the Colosseum, we stopped for lunch at a cute little spot on the way back to our hotel. After lunch we did a little bit of shopping and then continued back to our hotel to rest for a little while and to do an outfit change for our cooking class at 4pm. Our travel agency (Premier Tours out of Colorado- They’re amazing) scheduled us a cooking class at a Roman restaurant for dinner on our second night in Rome! When we arrived to the restaurant (Restaurant Pizzeria Pasquino near Piazza Navona) we were taken back to the kitchen to learn a few tips and tricks about making a traditional Roman meal. I love, love, love to cook so this was especially exciting for me. The first thing we watched and learned to make was Spaghetti Carbonara. This has always been a favorite pasta dish of mine so l really enjoyed learning how to master my carbonara skills. The second dish we learned to make was veal with prosciutto and cream sauce. This was to die for! I’ve had Italian veal dishes here in the States but nothing compares to the real thing. The last thing we learned how to make was tiramisu. Two of my favorite desserts are Tiramisu (I love coffee-especially black coffee) and Crème Brulee so I was very excited to make Tiramisu.

After we were taught how to make these dishes we got to sit and have them served to us! This also included a few glasses of free wine, which made it even better! We were so full after our dinner that we decided to end our night with a few more glasses of wine, a night walk to the Trevi Fountain, and a cone of lemon gelato!

A day in Venice

We arrived in Venice around 11:30 am and at that point we were starving so our first line of action was to get some food! We ate at Osteria Trattoria Nono Risorto, the food was very good & they had a cute covered courtyard in the back! After lunch we started hunting for a gondola ride. The one we found was €80 divided by the 3 of us for 30 minutes, it was so worth it! Being able to see Venice from the water was so beautiful! I highly recommend stopping at a restaurant on the water & finishing your day with a couple of glasses of prosecco while watching all of the gondolas ride by. Venice is so beautiful & I highly recommend stopping off for a day trip there!
